Practice makes perfect (or so I hear)
As with most new endeavors, at this point I'm just trying to figure this blogging thing out. It took me longer than I care to admit to learn how to get that little picture of me and Dave up there in the corner. And when I look at other people's blogs, mine looks so...I don't know...sparse, I guess. Oh well, I guess I'll learn as I go.
The weather here in the midwest has been really crappy lately. The last couple of days has finally warmed up enough that some of this snow is melting off. But because there was all that snow, this is the first time in 3 weeks that Jake has gone to school like he's supposed to on a Tuesday. I love him very much, but I was so happy to see his teachers reach in to help him out of the carseat today. That left me with 2 solid hours alone with Emma with nothing to do but...clean. Yippee.
I'm actually more excited than I let on. I am in constant pursuit of the perfect schedule for my life, and 3 weeks ago I came up with something that I hope will work for me. But I haven't had an opportunity to put it into practice because so many things had been cancelled due to all the snow and ice. So today is the first day that I've had an opportunity to fulfill my Tuesday task: clean the house. And I did get most of it done; it would have gone much faster if Emma didn't keep insisting on doing silly things like unplugging the vacuum and putting the plug in her mouth. Sigh. I guess that would fall under the "need to teach" category and not the "innate behavior" category. You learn a little something new everyday, I guess.

She probably has enough energy to power the vacuum cleaner- did you try to turn it on while the plug was in her mouth??
It's been nice to not wear heavy coats lately, that's for sure!
