Losing it and Keeping it off

O.K. I'm going to get back into this. I really am. I swear. And the May Day Challenge is going to help me.

Ever since I hit Lifetime (the goal, not the network) in February, I have not been a very good Weight Watcher. I've been eating everything I can get my hands on and then going back for seconds. I eat off my kids plates...before they're finished eating. I am doubling and tripling my portion sizes and making crappy choices. I haven't been excercising nearly as much as I was when I lost it the first time and I am nearly on a first name basis with the workers at our local Chinese restaurant and Dairy Queen (and whoever put those two establishments right next door to each other is an evil genius).

Yes, I am a fine example of healthy living. Nice to meet you!

But this time will be different. I want and I need your support and I will greedily lap it up like there is no tomorrow. Despite my bad habits, I've been lucky that my weight hasn't come back any more than it has, and I am making this recommitment now instead of waiting until I can't stand myself anymore. I've got 5 pounds to lose to put me back to fighting weight, and then I will maintain that weight for the rest of my life (plus, I want my name on a gold star and a cool new graphic for my sidebar).

Wish me luck and I'll keep you updated!

You go Girl. I LOVE the entusiastic tone in your post. You can so do this. Isn't it so neat to not have to do this "alone," and to be able to have a network of women to cheer on and encourage...I love it and this is only Day one. I too, am a SAHM and just ventured into the Blogging World ...so I am glad that we met and I hope to be mutual encouragers as we commit to loose some weight. Sincerely, Serving Him

Good girl! I know, it's the bad habits that are hard to break. We can totally do this!

Hey, my 7 weird things will be up tomorrow (Wednesday).

I do that thing where I hit one of my small goals, and think that gives me permission to pig out. Must be hard wired into our brains or something. But you can break the programming!

Umm...can you tell I just read three sci-fi books?

Congratulations on focusing on keeping it off. So many of us lose weight and it put it back on again, because we keep forgetting the healthy habits we learnt while losing the weight in the first place. I've probably lost my body weight 3 times over. So here's to losing weight for the last time!

Good luck! Erase The Chinese Place and Dairy Queen from speed dial. :)

I'm here to visit your WW, but I saw this so I had comment. I too am in the challenge. I am so hungry today that I've cheated already. It's only day 2. Ugh! I'm not sure if it's because of all the walking I did that I'm not used to doing or what. But I am sitting here stuffing my face feeling so guilty! Anyways, just needed to vent.
